A Study Tour

A study tour is an important part of our education. The knowledge that is gathered from books is rather theoretical. So, in order to make our knowledge useful, we must fulfill it through varied experiences of the practical side of nature and life. Study tour gives us a better knowledge of the world that is absolutely unknown to us. It also gives us the chance to observe nature to gain vast knowledge. What we learn from geography becomes far more impressive when we can see the different objects with our own eyes. In short, a study tour turns our knowledge into experience. It increases the depth of our knowledge and broadens our outlook on what we obtain by reading books. So, for this reason, our institute should arrange study tours every year for the betterment of the students.

Your Best Fiend

There is a proverb that “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” A friend is an important person in everyone’s life. My name is S. I have a best friend in my life. His name is X. He lives in Canada now. He is my childhood friend. We would read in the same class and in the same school. We were brought up in the same village. He never quarreled with me. He always helped me if I faced any sort of problem. If he faced any kind of problem, he also came to me for my valuable suggestion. We would go to school together.  Whatever he brought for Tiffin he would share with me. We played together in the afternoon. He never told a lie to me. Whatever he did, he would discuss it with me. My parents would love him too much. His parents also loved me too much. If anyone would see us together, they thought that we were brothers. Sometimes he phones me from Canada still now if he gets time. Whenever he comes to his house, first he must come to my house to meet me. Really, I am greatly proud of having such a friend in my life. May Allah bless him.

A Tea Stall

A tea stall is a small shop where prepared tea and a few snacks are sold or served for money. It is usually a small room with a few tables and chairs. In some tea stalls, there is only a pair of long narrow tables with benches set beside them. A tea stall is usually a crowded place. People who gather in a tea stall do not generally leave it immediately after taking a cup of tea. They sip their tea and talk about everything under the sun. Sometimes they debate on topics of current interest often a group of people discuss politics and others listen to the discussion with rapt attention.  A tea stall is a noisy place from dawn until midnight every day. It opens early in the morning and closes late at night. So, one can have tea in it at any time from dawn to midnight.

A Road Accident

It was about 3 p.m. on November 18 last.  I was walking along Nawabpur road, Dhaka, towards  Bangabandhu  Avenue. A boy was going the same way. He was a few steps ahead of me. Suddenly he turned and started to cross the road. He had just moved to the middle of the road when all of a sudden a motor car came on and knocked him down. The car stopped with a sound. I ran to the boy in the twinkling an eye. I thought he was dead. Thanks, Allah! He was alive. He lay senseless with the shock and wounds he received. Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered there. They began to hurl angry words, sharp comments, and even abuse at the driver. However, I took little notice of their agitated mood. I took the wounded boy to the medical college hospital. There the doctors and nurses took care of him and at about 6 p.m. he opened his eyes and looked at us. I then got the address of the boy from him and informed his parents of the sad accident.

A Street Hawker

A street hawker is a familiar figure in towns.  He is the vendor of a variety of things. He moves from street to street.  He carries his things sometimes on his head, sometimes in his hands sometimes on a small handcart. He sells toys, bangles, ribbons, clothes, sweets, fruits, utensils, newspapers, fancy goods, and things of domestic use by bringing them to people’s doors. He is a clever fellow who knows his business. He means one kind of goods for children another kind for womenfolk and yet another kind for women that will attract women. Therefore, he has to be careful about the things to sell.  As he passes along the street, he makes a peculiar cry to attract the attention of his customers. The children here and there gather around him and stop him. The hawker generally chooses an hour when the master of the family is away and the women are free from their household duties. He hopes thereby to make a good bargain. In towns everywhere, we see hawkers and many of them are making good business

Early Rising

Rising from bed early in the morning is a good habit. It is beneficial to health. Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise is a proverb. The early risers can take some physical exercises or walk in the morning. Morning is the best time to get fresh air. It refreshes both body and mind. One can enjoy the beauty of nature in the early morning. Nature smiles in the morning with colorful flowers, green leaves and chirping of birds.  In fact early-rising enables us to face the day with fresh and vigorous mind. The early riser gets more times to do his work. He finishes his work in proper time. On the other hand, late riser is always in a hurry. He cannot finish his work properly. So, everyone should acquire this habit in life.

My Reading Room

I am a student. I have a reading room.
I have a table and a chair in my reading room . I have a book-shelf made of bamboo and cane. Most of my books and exercise books are well arranged. I always keep my pen, ink-pot, pencils, instruments, box and other necessary articles in an orderly fashion .  I never gossip with my friends in my reading room. My reading room has a door and a window.  It is ventilated. I have a table-fan and table-lamp on my table. Whenever I enter into my reading room I feel a sense of ease, comfort and relief.  All my cares and anxieties are gone as soon as I take my seat before the table in my reading room. I have decorated it with some paintings and calendars. I am proud of my reading room.
